Neuro Linguistic Programming

Neuro Linguistic Programming was created in the 1970s by Richard Bandler (a student of Psychology) and John Grinder (assistant Professor of Linguistics), working at the University of California. They observed people who were considered to be outstanding in their field, such as in sports and business, and identified or ‘modelled’, what it was about their beliefs and behaviour that was so successful. Based on their observations a number of principles, called ‘presuppositions’, were developed which reflect the way that successful people apply concepts and ideas in their approach to life. One example is, ‘there is no failure, only feedback’: the information you get from every experience in your life helps you to understand how to change what you are doing now to reach your desired outcome. NLP provides us with tools and techniques we can use in order to bring about change. We can :

  • increase self-esteem,
  • overcome the effects of past negative experiences,
  • control the way we feel,
  • change unwanted habits,
  • build personal relationships
  • find creative ways to solve problems
  • get more out of life

NLP and Life Coaching

I have trained as a Practitioner in NLP and find the techniques to be highly effective in many areas of Life Coaching. NLP brings surprisingly fast results. I have been able to apply NLP to numerous aspects of my own life and find it extremely rewarding to introduce friends, family and clients to the wide-ranging and exciting possibilities it brings.
